Testing & Evidence.
What we know, how we know it, and what we do not claim. Evidence in cosmetics comes in levels; we label ours honestly instead of blurring them.
I.Two levels of evidence
Most skincare marketing blurs a crucial line: research on an ingredient is not the same as testing on the finished formula you buy. We keep the two apart, on this page and on every product page.
Level 1
Ingredient research
What published research says about an ingredient, such as Bakuchiol studied alongside retinol for renewal. Real science, but conducted on the ingredient, not on our bottle. We say so.
Level 2
Finished-product testing
What has been tested on the actual formula: dermatological testing, certifications and documented use on real skin. Only this level appears next to a claim without qualification.
II.Formula by formula
Every formula is produced, safety-assessed and documented by certified manufacturing partners in the EU and the US, and every product page discloses the complete INCI list. Beyond that baseline, this is what is verified per formula:
| Formula | Finished-product facts |
|---|---|
| ETHER | Dermatologically tested. Certified organic formulation. Built around Bakuchiol, the gentle retinol alternative from ingredient research. Declared fragrance allergens listed openly on the product page. |
| LUMIS | Formulated at 2% Vitamin C with 1% Ferulic Acid, disclosed concentrations. |
| REVEAL | Formulated at 10% Lactic Acid, disclosed concentration and clear frequency guidance. |
| FORM | Formulated at 2% Hexapeptide-11, disclosed concentration. |
| NOCTURNE | Ceramide night cream, positioned to support the skin barrier. We say supports, not rebuilds. |
| All ten | Vegan. Full INCI disclosure. Produced under EU cosmetics regulation, which prohibits animal testing. |
GRACE is a protective day cream and not a sunscreen; every morning should end with a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher.
III.Documented on real skin
Before the house sold a single bottle, full-size products went to independent testers, free of charge, so results could be seen on many faces instead of one. Fifteen of them documented eight to twelve weeks on their own phones, in their own light: unedited, published as received, on the home page.
The 400+ reviews across the product pages come from this tester programme and are labelled as such. None were paid for, none were edited, and critical reports were published alongside the rest.
IV.The same skin as yours
Advice counts when it comes from skin that behaves like yours. Below, excerpts from the tester programme grouped by skin type, quoted as received. The full reports remain on the product pages, the four star ones included.
Dry and dehydrated
“The constant pulling sensation across my cheeks stopped. My skin started holding moisture through the day in a way it simply wasn't before.”
Amber S. · VEIL · 5/5 · as received“I was skeptical about a foaming gel because every foam cleanser I've used has left my dry skin feeling like cardboard. PURE genuinely surprised me. The foam is soft, not aggressive, and it rinses clean without that horrible tight feeling.”
Tiffany T. · PURE · 4/5 · as receivedSensitive and reactive
“I have rosacea and eczema and choosing any new skincare product involves a very slow and careful patch test period. I patch tested DUSK for two weeks before using it on my full face. Zero reaction.”
Danielle G. · DUSK · 4/5 · as received“I had given up on anything that claimed to do what retinol does because every product I tried, even the gentle ones, caused flushing and sensitivity. Bakuchiol in ETHER has been a revelation. Eight weeks in and my skin is calmer than it was before I started using it.”
Claire R. · ETHER · 4/5 · as receivedCombination and oily
“I have combination skin that gets dehydrated in the T-zone but oily everywhere else and finding a hydrator that balances that without making things worse has been a years-long project. Within three weeks my skin stopped looking flat in the mornings and started having this kind of bounce that I associate with being well-rested, which I genuinely was not.”
Brittany P. · VEIL · 4/5 · as received“Combination skin here and I have been on a lifelong quest for a cleanser that handles my oily T-zone without wrecking my cheeks. Three weeks in and I think I finally found it.”
Amelia E. · PURE · 5/5 · as receivedMature skin
“My skin is 54 years old and dry in the way that mature skin gets dry, where moisturiser sits on top rather than being absorbed. ETHER changed that.”
Melissa A. · ETHER · 5/5 · as received“I was sceptical about the dewy finish but after three weeks it suits my dry, mature skin perfectly. Lines look softer and my skin holds moisture better throughout the day.”
Rebecca C. · GRACE · 5/5 · as receivedV.What we do not claim
No medical claims: our formulas are cosmetics, not treatments. No clinical studies on the finished formulas yet, and until they exist, you will not see the word clinical next to our products. No before-and-after fabrications: if a photograph appears on this site as a result, it came from a real person who used the products, unedited.
A structured consumer study on ETHER is in preparation. Its results will be published on this page, whatever they show.
